Earlier today during the Game Developers Conference, Sony announced the price and release window for Playstation VR, the company’s foray into the VR landscape. Playstation VR will be released this October for $399/€399/£349/AUD $549. This makes it cheaper than the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive, releasing for $600 and $800 respectively.

Coming with the headset are a processor unit, a VR headset connection cable, HDMI and USB cables, headphones, and a power supply. Notably, it doesn’t come with a Playstation Camera which is needed in order to use Playstation VR. Those who purchase the Playstation VR can download The Playroom in VR for free, and it comes with six games for the whole family.
