E3 2016 is getting closer which means it’s time to take a look at Bethesda, the second studio to have a press conference this year. Last year was the first time Bethesda had an E3 press conference and they totally knocked it out of the park. They debuted gameplay of Doom, revealed Dishonored 2, and topped off their show with a 30-minute showcase of Fallout 4, so my expectations for this year are pretty high.
What I’m Looking Forward To
Dishonored 2

The first Dishonored was a great game that had an intriguing story and incredibly fun gameplay. Being able to teleport onto a roof and then possess a guard on the ground, only to then use his body to infiltrate a building and assassinate your target was loads of fun. And that was only one way for you to go about things. The sequel looks to be mixing things up by giving us another playable character – Emily Caldwin, the child from the first game – and a whole slew of new powers and locations to assassinate our enemies. I can’t wait to see the first gameplay for Dishonored 2 next week (perhaps a nice, lengthy demo?), and hopefully see a release date as well.
Fallout 4 DLC

Fallout 4 has been out for some time and the guys over at Bethesda have been working hard on releasing post-game content, whether it be in the form of DLC or the newly added mod support on Xbox One (soon to be on PS4). Earlier this year, they raised the price of the season pass from $30 to $50 because they were going to be adding more content than they originally planned to, so what better time than E3 to show it off to the world? Hopefully we get information on all the upcoming DLC for the game and a firm launch date for mod support on PS4. Papa can’t wait to play with those mods.
Skyrim Remastered

As I was in the process of writing this piece, rumors came out saying that a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim would be announced at E3. If those rumors are true in any kind of way, then I’m hyped to play this game. Granted, I’ve tried jumping into Skyrim on two separate occasions over the years and could just never fully invest myself in the game due to the size of the game and the time I would’ve needed to play it. Things have changed though and I feel that now more than ever before, I’m ready to jump into that game and truly enjoy myself. Third time’s the charm right?
Prey 2

Years and years ago, a game known as Prey 2 was revealed and it blew the gaming world away. Okay maybe it wasn’t years and years ago, with it’s announcement happening in March of 2011, but it feels like it’s been forever since the game was revealed. Shoot, gameplay was even shown shortly after that. Then the game disappeared entirely, and in recent years word got out that the game had been cancelled. Then word got out that Bethesda had a new team working on it, but it wasn’t called Prey 2 anymore and it wasn’t the same as the game we saw before. We may never know what happened to the game in all these years. We just want the game. If recent rumors are to be believed, we’ll be seeing it next week at E3. Please let this game be real, and please let it be great Bethesda!
What I Don’t Want To Happen
For Bethesda To Screw Up
Bethesda didn’t mess up at all last year and I don’t see any way that they can disappoint this year. They have a bunch of heavy hitters in their hands, so I fully expect them to deliver a great show just like they did last year. At the same time though, there is the possibility that they’ll screw up and deliver a dud of a show. It would honestly be a shame if that happened because of how well they did last year, so I really hope that doesn’t happen. Just do a great job like last year Bethesda and you’ll be golden.
