After months of speculation, Sony held a Playstation meeting earlier today in New York where they revealed the recently leaked and unboxed Playstation 4 Slim, and the Playstation 4 Pro (formerly codenamed Playstation Neo). The PS4 Slim will be available in most places starting September 15 for $299 and as with most slim console redesigns, it sports a new design as well.

This isn’t big news though since the system was leaked a few weeks ago and unboxed on video by multiple people online. I will say though that I think the system doesn’t look too bad, especially when compared to the PS4 Pro.

That machine you see right there isn’t a PS4 that’s been photoshopped and had another level added to it. That’s the PS4 Pro and it’ll be available on November 10 for $399. It has a 1TB hard drive, 4K and HDR capability, and more power under the hood than the current PS4. A number of titles were shown to be taking advantage of the system’s 4K and HDR capabilities such as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Spider-Man, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Mass Effect: Andromeda, and they all looked pretty gorgeous if I should say so myself. One could only imagine how they look on a TV that can do 4K and HDR.
Sony also announced that a new Netflix app will be available at launch with 600 hours of 4K content. Youtube is also developing an app with 4K content in mind.
For those of us that won’t be getting a PS4 Pro but have HDR TVs, Sony will be releasing a patch for all PS4 systems that makes them HDR compatible. That way we can all bask in the glorious colors that HDR allows us to see. If you want to see what some of the games looked like on PS4 Pro, check out the videos down below.
