Yesterday we got the announcement of Bioware’s new IP Anthem, and today we got our first look at gameplay. The game looks gorgeous and the world looks enormous. In the game, players are Freelancers, and they use mechanized suits called Javelins to explore the world. The two that we were introduced to were the Ranger, an all purpose suit, and the Colossus, a more burly and powerful suit. You’re able to customize and upgrade your suit as you play through the game, and are able to own more than one at a time.
Anthem definitely looks to be going after the Destiny audience. Bioware calls it a “shared-world action-RPG,” so you can expect many comparisons to Destiny once the game launches next year. I for one am definitely intrigued by this short gameplay tease provided to us today.
