After years of anticipation, Kingdom Hearts III finally has a release date!
The game will be released on PS4 and Xbox One on January 29, 2019. The release date was announced at the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour performance in Los Angeles tonight. A new trailer was also shown at the performance as well, but not released online. Presumably, it’ll be released during E3 alongside other new footage as well, according to a statement from game director Tetsuya Nomura.
The game may not be in 2018 anymore, but being pushed back to 2019 can only serve to help the game more. Had it been released this year, it would’ve had to compete with a number of juggernauts from across the gaming industry, so a January release gives it a chance to breathe. Regardless, I’m just excited we have a date that’s not too far away. It’s also a few days after my birthday as well, so that’s a plus too.
