Sony Officially Announces Their Playstation 5 Event

By: Tyler Miller

This morning Sony finally announced that their Playstation 5 event will be taking place next week on June 4 at 1 PM PDT/4 PM EDT.

President & and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, made the announcement over on the Playstation Blog. It’s unknown whether or not the console’s physical appearance will be revealed during this event. What we do know is that the event will run for a bit over an hour and that we will be seeing some of the games that will be coming to the system.

That’s why I’m excited to share that we will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe. Studios, both larger and smaller, those newer and those more established, all have been hard at work developing games that will showcase the potential of the hardware.

This is the first of many events that Sony will be holding this year to promote the system and give us more information about it.

It’s been a long and sometimes frustrating journey getting to this point, but the wait for Sony to show their hand is about to be over. Will it be worth the wait though? And will their strategy of being silent for so long pay off? We’ll find out next week.
