Day 34 on Destiny Island
It is day 34 and we’ve had a lot of fun in the days since the last entry in my Animal Crossing: New Horizons journal. Let’s skip the preamble and just get right to it!
So this week I finally gave my best friend a tour of the island over FaceTime! I’m vastly understating things when I say that she was absolutely in love with everything. We started with my house and how I had things set up before going into my daily routine when I play the game. The cuteness of the game was almost too much for her to handle. Her favorite part of the whole tour was the museum. I knew it would be because I was in love with the museum the first time I saw it. Playing the game over FaceTime with her and showing her my island and the things that I can do in the game was so much fun. I’m happy that we were finally able to do it, especially since the island is more developed that it was when we were initially trying to do this.
Aside from the FaceTime session, there were some other cool things that happened in the game. I got to chat with my new resident Phil and oh my gosh does he have an amazing house!
It’s only one small room, but the way he has it set up is immaculate! I wasn’t prepared for it to be as cool and fancy as it was, but it shocked me to the core. I need to have Phil be my interior decorator for my house so that it can look as good as his, if not better.
Speaking of new residents, yesterday brought a brand new one as well! They’re a kangaroo named Rooney and I really like his design. He’s colorful, so he pops when you see him. His voice is deeper than I expected, but he’s a cool guy based off the few conversations I’ve had with him.
Yesterday we also had a birthday on the island! It was Alfonso’s birthday and it was very cute. He was dressed up in a suit with a cake hat on his head which simply melted my heart. His house was also decorated for the party as he and whatever guest pranced around the house to the music that was playing. As a gift I gave him a throwback wrestling figure that I had no use for. He was more than happy with the gift which made me happy. I’m not sure whose birthday is going to be next, but I’m looking forward to it.
I paid off my home loan yesterday as well, so now I have a brand new side room! I decided that this room would be my kitchen since I have a lot of kitchen items in my storage. The only issue is that I need some kitchen furniture as well as the appropriate flooring and wallpaper for the space.
So for now, the new room is empty aside from the kitchen items on the floor. Once I have the things I need, that will be my full fledged kitchen! Tom Nook also told me that I can now customize the outside appearance of my house. I didn’t look at the options, but I’ll take a gander at some point.
Now that I have this home upgrade, I think I’ll try and focus on spending my money on island upgrades. The next home loan costs 548,000 Bells and I don’t see myself hitting that number anytime soon, especially if I’m developing the island at the same time. I’d rather just focus entirely on the island and then worry about my house afterwards. I’ll still be putting money into my savings though so I can slowly build up towards the next upgrade.
On the island today was a new visitor named Flick. He’s a chameleon that collects bugs and makes models of them. Honestly I really like his design. Partly because it combines my favorite colors together in a great way, but also because it just works so well with his mood, animal, and clothing. With him being here today, I spent a lot of my play time just catching bugs and selling them to him over and over to rack up money. I ended my play session earlier today having made about 70,000 Bells by selling to him, which is a win to me. I might play a little more after posting this entry just to try and maximize his time on my island and get more money.
I can’t forget to mention the biggest event that happened today. Gabi said that she was thinking about leaving my island! When she said that my heart just about dropped! She was saying that she was thinking about traveling to try and be a pop star. Now Gabi is my bestie on the island and I love her with all my heart, but I refuse to give her up.
So I told her that she can’t leave and she realized that she’s super important on the island and decided to stay. I don’t care what has to happen, but Gabi is never leaving the island. I refuse to let her leave and will fight anyone to make sure that she stays. Got that honeybuns?
