The year is finally winding down guys. 2019 is really about to be over. It’s been a long year, but it’s also been a great year with a lot of great games that came out.

The 2010’s are coming to a close and a brand new decade of gaming is on the horizon. With that being the case, I thought it would be fun to look back on this past decade and pick out ten of my favorite games from this decade.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 started off so well last year. I thought the game was great and felt like it was one of the best entries in the series for the content it had, and how well it executed on its three main pillars. I purely played the multiplayer in BO4, and although I continued to play the game up until last week, things took a turn for the worse with the game post-launch.

For the past two weekends I played the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and oh my gosh I can’t express enough just how much I’m looking forward to this game.

This weekend brought the Playstation exclusive Alpha for the brand new Gunfight mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Being the fan of the series that I am and the excitement that I have for this brand new reinvention of my favorite sub-series in the franchise, I just had to get my hands on it and see how the game felt and how the mode played. And overall, I’m pretty positive on it.

Everything was in place. With Sony choosing not to participate in E3 this year and talk of the next generation of consoles ramping up, the stars had aligned perfectly for Microsoft. They would be the show of E3 that everyone wanted to see and they would be able to kick off the week in a big way. They were even talking it up to be this “show to beat all other shows.” Unfortunately they didn’t do that and treated this year’s conference like any other one.

Final Fantasy VII is a game that was iconic when it came out for a number of reasons. It was the first game in the series on the Playstation, the first one to be in 3D, and the first one to feature movie like cutscenes. That’s not even to mention it’s utterly unforgettable score, great cast of characters, engrossing world, and great combat. Perhaps it’s most memorable and iconic thing though is Aerith’s death (I refuse to call her Aeris).

Whenever the end of the year comes, it’s typically easy for me to decide what my game of the year was. This year though, it’s a tough one. God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2 came out this year and left their mark on me in ways that I didn’t expect. So today, I’ll lay out my thoughts for each one. These will consist of my what I liked about each game and the experience I had with them. All of these things are being taken into consideration for me as I choose who the winner will be. Let’s begin!

Welcome back everyone! Yesterday I talked about 12 of the games that I played throughout the course of the year, and I had a lot to say about them. Today we’re going to continue this look back on what I played this year with the final 12 games that I played. Just like yesterday there’s a lot to talk about with these games, so get comfortable because this is going to be a bit of a long post.

It’s crazy to think that 2018 is already ending guys! It feels like the year started not too long ago. Because I didn’t really post much about the games that I played throughout the year, I figured now would be the perfect time for me to look back on them and just offer my thoughts on them.
