The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
Until Dawn was a hit when it released in 2015. Developer Supermassive Games delivered a fun and creepy ode to slasher movies that had great characters, a fun story, and incredibly meaningful choices for you to make all throughout. It’s definitely one of my favorite choice based narrative games. Naturally my expectations were pretty high for their true follow up, Man of Medan. While the game is good, it falls short of greatness in a number of ways.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season – Episode 4
Telltale’s The Walking Dead has been delivering the goods with its final season. The choices have been difficult, the characters and relationships have been interesting, and the story has consistently been compelling. Now the final episode has been released and Clementine’s story has come to a satisfying end.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season – Episode 3
Clementine’s story continues! The Walking Dead: The Final Season was in a state of limbo when Telltale Games closed last year. Things were saved though when Skybound Games stepped in and brought on some of the original developers to save the season and finish Clementine’s story. There was some worry that this change would cause the final episodes to suffer in comparison to the first two, but those worries have proven to be unfounded.
Just Cause 4
The Just Cause franchise is one that I’m a big fan of. Being able to explore an island nation and cause wanton amounts of destruction, all while being a badass James Bond-esque character has been something that the series has generally excelled at. I jumped onto the franchise with Just Cause 2which was one of my favorite games to play on the PS3. Just Cause 3 was a step down from its predecessor, but it still offered a good amount of fun with the introduction of the wing suit and some new ways to use your grapple tools. Does Just Cause 4 bring the series back to explosive glory?
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
The Call of Duty franchise has been in a state of flux over the course of the past year. Last year’s WWII was meant to be the return to the series’ roots that the community had been clamoring for for years, but it ended up being simply good and not the great revamp that everyone was hoping it would be. On top of that, Fortnite has taken the world by storm with its battle royale mode, making it the most popular game in the world right now. In the past, you’d hear people always talking about Call of Duty and see friends lists filled with people playing the latest game in the franchise. It dominated YouTube in a way that no game before it did.
