Marvel’s Spider-Man
Superhero games have important jobs to fulfill. They have to put you in the shoes of the character and make you believe that you actually are this person. They need to deliver a story that takes some of the best parts of the character’s comic history, and mashes it all together in a package that at the very least is a fun ride to go on. The world that you play in has to be a great representation of the one that you see in the comics and other media. Most importantly though, the game needs to be fun to play. Insomniac Games checks all these boxes and delivers one of the best superhero games ever with their highly anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man.
The Walking Dead: The Final Season – Episode 2
Going into the second episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season after the news broke that Telltale Games was closing down, throwing the future of the season into question was bittersweet. There’s the potential that things won’t get resolved, and even if the final two episodes do come out, who knows if they’ll be as good since the original team won’t be making them. If things are going to end here though after two episodes, things are ending on a strong note, albeit one that ends with a cliffhanger.

God of War (2018)
In the current generation of gaming, many games strive to be the one that’s the complete package. They want to be the game with tight gameplay that’s fun and never boring, a story that gets you invested from the start and keeps you engaged for its entire duration, and cutting edge graphics that will further push the boundaries of how good games can look. A lot of games take big steps towards reaching this goal, but end up falling short in one way or another. God of War is that rare game that not only achieves these goals (amongst others), but surpasses them in ways that no one could have expected.
Shadow of the Colossus (2018)
When it comes to remaking a game that’s considered a classic, and is revered by many, there’s always a lot of skepticism. How much of the original will be changed? What will be kept intact? What will be added, and if anything is added, will the game be just as good as before? These are all questions that were asked about Bluepoint Games’ Shadow of the Colossus, and they’re all things that we never needed to worry about at all.
