EA Reveals Need for Speed Payback Gameplay

By: Tyler Miller

Today we got our first full look at gameplay for the upcoming Need for Speed Payback, and it looks like a high octane thrill ride. We get to see a look at a heist, the new thing that the series is pushing this go around, and the heist itself was pretty cool to watch. Just cut out all the slow-mo shots during takedowns and we’re good to go.

Need for Speed Payback comes out this fall on November 10th.

Battlefield 1 Continues To Look Intense As Hell

By: Tyler Miller

EA closed their terrible press conference with a cool gameplay trailer for DICE’s Battlefield 1. The game looks gorgeous as expected, and even crazier than the reveal trailer was. Of course the gameplay in the trailer was highly scripted and no game is ever going to play out the one in this trailer, but it still looks like it’ll be loads of fun. DICE announced that the game will have dynamic weather such as fog and rain that’ll affect your gameplay, better destruction, and new vehicles called “Behemoths.” Airships, an armored train, and a battleship are all “Behemoths” that players will be able to use and turn the tide of a battle in their favor. There’s also going to be an open beta sometime this summer.

Battlefield 1 launches October 21 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Hey Guys! EA Is Making Star Wars Games For The Future!

By: Tyler Miller

So that headline is complete sarcasm. Were you expecting to get some real good looks at some new Star Wars games? So was I. Too bad we’ve both been incredibly disappointed by EA’s press conference that offered nothing more than a developer diary that essentially said “Hey, we’re working on a bunch of different Star Wars games! They’ll be out sometime in the future! Please be excited.” The most solid information we got was that Respawn’s game takes place in a brand new era, and Visceral’s game is completely original and won’t be out until 2018. We also got a look at one piece of concept art and a short in engine clip of a character walking out of a house for Visceral’s game. Not much to latch onto there. Thanks for letting me down EA.

Take Another Look At Mass Effect: Andromeda

By: Tyler Miller

It’s Mass Effect Andromeda guys! It’s here at E3! It’s time to get real excited everyone! Well, not to excited because although we got a better look at the game than we have in recent years, we still didn’t get much information about the game during EA’s press conference earlier. The game does look beautiful, I can’t deny that. It just sucks so much that EA dropped the ball and showed another developer diary video with only a bit of what we really wanted to see. They did promise that more information will be released later this Fall though, so there’s something to look forward to.

Titanfall 2 Debuts Its Campaign And Multiplayer

By: Tyler Miller

Kicking off EA’s press conference earlier this afternoon was Respawn’s Titanfall 2, and it certainly made an impression. I never got a chance to play the first game, but the sequel seems to be upping the ante big time when it comes to the multiplayer. Pilots now have different abilities they can perform, grenades that suck up enemies, and a grappling hook they can use to traverse the environment or attack enemies. The Titans themselves now appear to have new abilities and weapons as well.

As for the single player campaign, the game looks to be greatly expanding the universe and getting more in depth with the bond between the pilot and their Titan. The Titans now have something resembling a personality, causing them to be even more connected to their pilots than before. The campaign doesn’t look too amazing based solely off of this trailer, but it looks like it’ll at least be good.

Titanfall 2 launches October 28 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Road To E3 2016: EA

By: Tyler Miller

June has arrived at last! So you know what that means? E3 2016 will be upon us very soon, and us gamers will be swimming in all the new game reveals and announcements that all the developers and publishers give us. With E3 coming up, I felt that it would be fun to talk about what I’m looking forward to, and what I hope doesn’t happen at each of the press conferences. Since I don’t play PC games, I won’t be doing one of these posts for the PC press conference so I apologize for those that are interested in that show. With all of that out of the way, let’s kick this off with EA who has the first press conference of the show.

By: Tyler Miller

It’s the middle of May which means that E3 (A.K.A. Christmas for gamers) is right around the corner! As per usual, the different press conferences this year will be live streamed online for those of us that can’t attend to watch online. Below is the list of press conferences and the times that they will be at, so make sure you write them down. You don’t want to miss out on these shows!

EA: June 12, 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST

Bethesda: June 12, 7 PM PST / 10 PM EST

Microsoft: June 13, 9:30 AM PST / 12:30 PM EST

PC Gaming Show: June 13, 12 PM PST / 3 PM EST

Ubisoft: June 13, 1 PM PST / 4 PM EST

Sony: June 13, 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST

Nintendo: Nintendo will not be having a press conference or Nintendo Direct this year, and will instead be having a full day of Nintendo Treehouse: Live starting on June 14th at 9 AM PST / 12 PM EST.

Of note is that there is no news as for whether or not Square Enix will hold a press conference this year since they did last year. They have announced though that they will hold a “Square Enix Presents” live show where they will make game announcements and have discussions with game developers about their games. There will also be another Active Time Report taking place during E3 as well, so maybe more Final Fantasy XV news will be revealed then as well? Only time will tell.

What show are you most looking forward to this year? Leave your answer in the comments below!
