Cutting it close again, but today’s stop on the Road to E3 2018 is Sony! They’re going to be showing a lot of new stuff this year from already announced games, and delivering us footage and announcements from other third party and indie games as well. It’s bound to be a great show, so let’s get to it!
In the current generation of gaming, many games strive to be the one that’s the complete package. They want to be the game with tight gameplay that’s fun and never boring, a story that gets you invested from the start and keeps you engaged for its entire duration, and cutting edge graphics that will further push the boundaries of how good games can look. A lot of games take big steps towards reaching this goal, but end up falling short in one way or another. God of War is that rare game that not only achieves these goals (amongst others), but surpasses them in ways that no one could have expected.

Today, Insomniac Games announced that Spider-Man will be released on September 7.
When it comes to remaking a game that’s considered a classic, and is revered by many, there’s always a lot of skepticism. How much of the original will be changed? What will be kept intact?

Sony treated us to a slew of upcoming PSVR games during their press conference, and most of them look pretty interesting. If any of them look bad, it’s probably Skyrim VR. I mean, just look at the way the bow and arrow was being held. Just terrible I tell you.

We were introduced to another character in Detroit Become Human today, and his name is Marcus. He’s an android revolutionary that’s fighting to free androids from the humans. The trailer shows the many things we can do and how our actions affect the other android characters we’ve been introduced to in past trailers. Unfortunately we still don’t have a release date for the game.

We got some more gameplay of Bend Studio’s Days Gone during Sony’s press conference tonight, showing our protagonist go on a mission to save a camp member from some enemies. The game looks great and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

God of War returned this year with a brand new trailer that showed off more gameplay and gave us hints towards what’s going on in the story. We see Kratos’ son getting more hands on in the combat, a shield that Kratos can use, and apparently people know about Kratos’ past. The game will be coming out early next year, so it won’t be too much longer before we get to go on this father and son journey ourselves.

Spider-Man finally revealed its gameplay tonight and the game looks pretty fun. The game looks similar to the Arkham games in terms of its gameplay, but with a Spider-Man touch. There are notably a fair amount of QTE’s in the demo, so that begs the question of how many will actually be in the game. We’ll find out next year when the game releases. Also, stick around all the way through the end. There’s a little surprise there for Spider-Man fans.

One of the other biggest surprises of their E3 press conference, Sony revealed that Shadow of the Colossus is getting a brand new remaster. The graphics are being completely updated and it looks gorgeous. It’s unknown if anything else is being added to the game as of now.
