Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Has Been Officially Announced

By: Tyler Miller

After many rumors, leaks, and teases, Activision and Infinity Ward finally announced Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. The new game takes place farther into the future than any other game in the series has, and takes the series into space. They also confirmed that a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare will be bundled with the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare as well. At the end of the trailer is a little tease for the remaster (spoiler alert: the game looks GORGEOUS). Check it out for yourself!

In a lifestream that took place earlier this afternoon, the team at Infinity Ward revealed some other details that weren’t shown in the trailer.

  • Infinite Warfare takes place in our solar system. There will be NO aliens. Humans will be the only people that players fight.
  • Multiplayer maps will be set on Earth and on some other planets.
  • There will be some new lethal and tactical equipment available to use in multiplayer.
  • Infinite Warfare will contain a zombies co-op mode. It will be in a separate universe from Treyarch’s zombie mode and from the campaign of Infinite Warfare. The zombie mode will also have easter eggs as well, and take zombies to a whole new level.
  • Raven Software is developing the remaster of CoD 4, with Infinity Ward executive producing the game.
  • CoD 4: Remastered will have 10 multiplayer maps from the original game, and all the kill streaks, perks, weapons, and prestiges that we remember, in addition to the campaign.

If you want to pick up the remastered version of CoD 4, you can only do so by buying the Legacy Edition of Infinite Warfare. This will cost you $79.99 and will be available physically or digitally. The Digital Deluxe Edition will cost you $99.99 and comes with everything the Legacy Edition does, as well as the season pass for Infinite Warfare. Lastly, the Legacy Pro Edition will cost you $119 and comes with everything the Digital Deluxe Edition does, as well as a collectible steenbok, the game soundtrack, and some unannounced digital items.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare launches on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this fall on November 4.
