God I Want To Play Sea of Thieves

By: Tyler Miller

We got a full gameplay demo of Rare’s Sea of Thieves today and it continues to impress. The demo showed off exploration on land and under the sea, combat with living and undead enemies, and treasure hunting. I truly can’t get enough of this game. It releases on Xbox Windows 10 next year.

The Last Night Looks So Great

By: Tyler Miller

We got a trailer for The Last Night during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, and the game looks really cool. The cyberpunk aesthetic works really well with the 2D pixel art design of the game, and is one that’s definitely going to be on my radar from here on out. The game is coming out in 2018.

Mark your calendars everyone because we have the first cross-platform game on the market! Microsoft announced during their E3 press conference that Minecraft will be getting updated to offer cross-platform play with Windows 10, mobile, and Nintendo Switch users. Any saved data, purchases, and things that you have in your worlds will carry over from past versions of the game to this new one. Unfortunately, PS4 users are still not in the mix on this deal, so we’ll still have to play by ourselves.

Road To E3 2017: Microsoft

By: Tyler Miller

This is the year everyone! Microsoft is out for blood and they’re putting on their big boy gloves. I’m incredibly excited for their E3 showing this year, but I’m also afraid that they’ll mess this up badly. Thankfully though, my excitement for what they have (and potentially have) is far outweighing my fear for their show.

Xbox Opens Itself Up To Cross-Network Multiplayer

By: Tyler Miller

Hell must have frozen over and pigs must be flying because the impossible is finally a reality. Today Microsoft announced that Xbox players will be able to play online with players on other consoles or platforms. ID@Xbox Director Chris Carla broke the good news in a letter on Xbox Wire, saying that players on Xbox Live on either Xbox One or Windows 10 will be able to play with people on other online networks. It comes down to the developers to implement it into their games and the other networks (i.e. PSN, Steam) to accept the invitation. The first game that will be be implementing this feature is Rocket League, the hit racing/soccer game that made a splash on Playstation Plus last summer, and recently made the leap to Xbox One.
